The Four Faces Of God - The Eagle

In the final week of our series, we will look at the excellence of God. The God of order and professionalism. Our lives should be marked by the face of the Eagle, excellent and orderly. 
- The book of Matthew depicts the Eagle. The books author, Matthew, was a tax collector/accountant. He was very detailed and specific. Matthew quotes the Old Testament more than any other gospel to show that Jesus was who He was predicted to be. His knowledge of the "bible" (or Tora) was unmatched and on point. He even details where each quote is found. This is the only gospel to do that. 
 

The Four Faces Of God - The Man

 
This week will be about how we relate to people. How we stand firm in our faith but still gain the favor of the people around us. 
- The book of Luke depicts the Man. There are more parables shared in Luke than any other gospel. What makes you more relatable than a good ole story? Luke begins with the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to Adam. Why? Because Jesus is shown as a man, just like us.

The Ox -Purposeful-In this week we will focus on the heart to serve others. - The book of Mark depicts the Ox. Mark begins at Jesus being baptized, not with the genealogy of Christ like all other gospels do. Why? Because, who would want to know the pedigree of a servant? Mark records more miracles (or Jesus helping others) than any other gospel in the Bible.

Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
