In the final week of our series, we will look at the excellence of God. The God of order and professionalism. Our lives should be marked by the face of the Eagle, excellent and orderly.
- The book of Matthew depicts the Eagle. The books author, Matthew, was a tax collector/accountant. He was very detailed and specific. Matthew quotes the Old Testament more than any other gospel to show that Jesus was who He was predicted to be. His knowledge of the "bible" (or Tora) was unmatched and on point. He even details where each quote is found. This is the only gospel to do that.

This week will be about how we relate to people. How we stand firm in our faith but still gain the favor of the people around us.
- The book of Luke depicts the Man. There are more parables shared in Luke than any other gospel. What makes you more relatable than a good ole story? Luke begins with the genealogy of Jesus all the way back to Adam. Why? Because Jesus is shown as a man, just like us.

The Ox -Purposeful-In this week we will focus on the heart to serve others. - The book of Mark depicts the Ox. Mark begins at Jesus being baptized, not with the genealogy of Christ like all other gospels do. Why? Because, who would want to know the pedigree of a servant? Mark records more miracles (or Jesus helping others) than any other gospel in the Bible.

In this week we will discuss the importance to seek God face, to pursue Him. Our God is a lion! He is powerful! As Christians, we too should walk in His power.
The book of John depicts the Lion. John starts with Jesus' power and position. "In the beginning was the Word..." In John, Jesus is referred to as "the great I am." Why? Because He has power!

(Revelation 4:6-7 NLT) In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face (or man); and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.

The Power Of Losing - Preached June 22, 2019Church On The Rock St. Augustine
(2 Timothy 2:5 ESV) An athlete is not crowned unless he competes…
- We all have a yesterday.
- We all have a tomorrow.
- We all have a present.
Growing
1. Own your past.
(2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT) Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
2. Paint your target.
(Philippians 3:14 NIV) I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
3. Run your play.
(1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NIV) Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
(Isaiah 44:22 NLT) I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.
