What does it really mean to abide in Jesus? In John 15, Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” He reminds us that apart from Him, we can do nothing. But abiding in Christ is not passive. It is not just sitting still, feeling spiritual, or keeping our faith private. When we are truly connected to Jesus, His life begins to produce fruit in us, and that fruit is not just for us. It is for the people around us.
In this message from our From the Vine series, Pastor Josh Hersey teaches from John 15, 1 John 3, 1 John 4, and Psalm 143 about the action of abiding. Real love shows up through action. Real discipleship moves us toward serving, giving, praying, caring, witnessing, leading, and laying down our lives for others the way Jesus laid down His life for us.
If you have ever wondered how to grow spiritually, how to bear fruit as a Christian, or what your next step of obedience might be, this message will challenge and encourage you. Abiding in Jesus does not mean doing more to earn God’s love. It means staying connected to the source of life so deeply that His love begins to move through your life toward others.
Am I trusting God to lead me forward in His will, or am I trusting in my own way?

What you keep your eyes on will eventually shape your faith. In this message from our From the Vine series, Cynthia teaches on faithfulness through the lens of “gaze versus glance.” So often, we give long attention to fear, temptation, pressure, grief, anxiety, comparison, and the enemy’s lies, while only glancing at the truth of God’s Word. But Jesus calls us to remain connected to Him, because apart from Him we can do nothing.
Looking at John 15, Galatians 5, Genesis 3, 2 Samuel 11, Judas’ betrayal, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Hebrews 12, this message reminds us that faith grows when our gaze stays fixed on God. Fear will try to paralyze us, sin will try to distract us, and life will try to overwhelm us, but Jesus is still the author and perfecter of our faith. If you have been walking through fear, distraction, temptation, or heaviness, this message will encourage you to lift your eyes again and keep your gaze on Christ.
Scriptures: John 15:5, Galatians 5:22-23, Genesis 3:1-7, 2 Samuel 11, 2 Timothy 1:7, Hebrews 12:1-3

What do you do when your faith feels strong one week and distant the next? In the Season 2 finale of Cornerstone Conversations, Pastor Josh Hersey answers honest questions about anxiety, depression, habitual sin, doubt, baptism, and what it means to trust Jesus when your feelings and circumstances are constantly changing.
This Christian faith conversation explores how Philippians 4 speaks to anxiety, why confession and biblical community are essential for healing, how believers can bring difficult questions to God, and why doubt does not automatically mean your faith is failing. The conversation also examines baptism as a declaration of allegiance to Jesus, the lordship of Christ, and the question Jesus asked at the Pool of Bethesda: “Do you want to be healed?” Whether you are wrestling with doubt, struggling to break an old pattern, or trying to stay close to Jesus during a difficult season, this episode offers practical biblical encouragement for walking honestly with God.

In this message from John 15, Pastor Josh explains what it truly means to abide in Jesus, remain connected to the Vine, and allow the Holy Spirit to produce lasting fruit in your life. Jesus never asked us to manufacture love, joy, peace, or self control on our own. He invited us to stay close to Him and receive the life, grace, and transformation that only He can provide.
Through John 15, Mark 12, Romans 7, and 1 John 4, this sermon explores the struggle between faith and failure, the difference between religious striving and genuine relationship with Jesus, and why loving God naturally changes the way we love others. Whether you are battling addiction, regret, disappointment, spiritual exhaustion, or the feeling that you will never be good enough, this message is a reminder that Jesus has already paid the price for your sin. Stop trying to behave your way toward God and learn how to rest, remain, and abide in Christ.
